WhatsApp to animate message reactions option

Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is working on a new feature, message reactions and WABetainfo has now reported that there is something more about this feature.

Besides the option to react to a message through the reactions button, WhatsApp will soon roll out a new animation effect with it.

This, however, is nothing very important, but it shows that the company is keeping small details in view before finally releasing the feature.

The WhatsApp news tracker elaborated how the new feature would work through a video but we will show this to you through the screengrabs taken from it.

As you can see, a tab with multiple reaction options pops up when a message within the WhatsApp chat is selected. When the users will tap any of these options, the reaction will be sent in the form of an animation.

The feature is under development for WhatsApp Beta on both Android and iOS and WhatsApp web version.

WhatsApp likely to add Novi instant payments feature

The Meta-owned messaging application WhatsApp has announced its plans to roll out a new update for the app, using Novi, a digital wallet created by Facebook, WABetainfo reported Friday. With the expected feature, Novi Payments, WhatsApp users may have a new secure way to exchange money with friends and family instantly. The digital wallet requires no fees for instant money transfers and given that the privacy of users and their information is prioritised by Novi, the inclusion of the feature is “totally compatible with the principles of WhatsApp”. IT ministry notifies amended controversial social media rules

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication on Thursday notified the amended social media rules that stakeholders and digital rights activists have strongly criticised. The rules, titled the “Removal and Blocking of Unlawful Online Content (Procedure, Oversight and Safeguards) Rules, 2021”, have been framed under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (Peca), 2016. The federal cabinet had last month approved amendments to the digital media rules introduced last year.
